The 2026 Bangalow Billycart Derby Impact Report highlights what our community has always known – the Derby is about far more than racing down Byron Street.
Thanks to the incredible support of competitors, volunteers, sponsors, local businesses and spectators, the Bangalow Billycart Derby continues to generate significant benefits for our community. Funds raised through the event help support a wide range of local initiatives, including community programs, assistance for families experiencing hardship, support for local sporting talent, school uniforms and excursion assistance, community infrastructure projects and much more.
The Derby also delivers substantial economic benefits to Bangalow, attracting thousands of visitors who support local accommodation providers, cafés, restaurants, retailers and service businesses throughout the event weekend.
None of this would be possible without our volunteers, sponsors and supporters who generously give their time, resources and enthusiasm year after year.
